Italy: Lake Como Itinerary

Lago di Como is a majestic lake in northern Italy.  Each lakeside town has its own charm but they all have one thing in common, as expected of every Italian town, incredible food!

Besides the amazing food there is lots to see and do.  From visits to the opulent villas where Italian nobility once resided to jet skiing and other water sports.

It really is such a gorgeous lake. And it’s so easy to hop on a ferry and bounce around to see each and every lakeside town.  This itinerary highlights some of the best ones to check out.  It’s no wonder George Clooney has a house here!

  • Como – for the cathedral, funicular views of the lake, Villa Del Grumello & Villa Olmo
  • Cernobbio – for the hike to Monte Bisbino Villa Erba & Villa d’Este
  • Laglio – for George Clooney spotting (Villa Oleandra)
  • Lenno – for water sports & Villa Balbianello
  • Tremezzo – for Villa Carlotta & Villa Sola Cabiati
  • Bellagio – for the food, shopping, Villa Serbelloni & Villa Melzi
  • Varenna – for the medieval architecture, Villa Cipressi & Villa Monastero
  • Menaggio – for the lakeside views
