Cambodia Itinerary

When envisioning Cambodia most people picture the majestic temples of Angkor that transport you back to when the Khmer Empire ruled but the country has so much more to offer.  From its history and culture seen in the cities and countryside to the beaches and islands and rainforest Cambodia is not lacking in places to visit.

Cambodia has a very sad and horrid past but has come a long way.  Phnom Penh, the gateway to view much of the remnants of dictator Pol Pot’s massacre,  is now a much more modern city with art galleries and cafés lining its street.  And its rich culture is present throughout the country.  Walking the city streets you can often find Buddhist monks walking alongside you.

This itinerary showcases Cambodia’s highlights and covers a little bit of everything, cities, beaches, islands, lakes, rainforest, rivers and ruins.

  • Phnom Penh – for the history, art galleries & cafés (don’t miss Elephant Bar at the Raffles Hotel)
  • Kep – for the beach & Rabbit Island
  • Kampot – for the pepper farms & riverside views
  • Sihanoukville – for more beaches
  • Koh Rong –> Koh Rong Samloem – for island life
  • Koh Tang – for scuba diving
  • Cardamom Mountains – for the hiking & wildlife sightings
  • Siem Reap – for the temples of Angkor & Tonlé Sap Lake
